The configuration I used for the file metadata server appears to be suboptimal. The server was unable to meet demand for some rather normal tasks yesterday, and it isn't performing well right now. While I hate to do this so soon after the last maintenance outage,
for the sake of stability I believe that it is necessary to change the configuration before it becomes a larger problem. Euler will go offline at 9:01 pm tonight for changes. Pending any unexpected issues, it should only take about 18 hours to fully clone
the data and it will be returned to service around 3 pm tomorrow.
This "alternative" configuration was my original plan for this server, but I elected not to use it in the face of some compelling performance numbers for the one it has now. Once implemented, I intend to stick with tomorrow's configuration until at least the
