Hello Euler users,

Beta testing of the 8th generation of the Euler platform has been going well, and the bugs reported so far have been within expectations. As such, I'm writing to announce that we will begin rolling out the new platform to all nodes on Monday, August 18th.

This will be a rolling update; nodes which are already running the new platform will remain active for the duration of the deployment. The 'research-ng' partition will continue serving jobs during that time. Due to some technical limitations, new jobs on the current 'research' partition must complete before the 18th, but jobs which have already started as of today (August 5th) will be allowed to complete. Software which has already been recompiled for the new platform using research-ng should be ready to use on the updated nodes as soon as they are available.

If something changes, I will be sure to send out another announcement, otherwise if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to euler-...@engr.wisc.edu.

Regards,
Colin Vanden Heuvel
