Hello Euler users,

I've received several reports of extremely slow filesystem write speeds on Euler in the last day or two. At this point, I'm fairly certain that the issue is the result of a maintenance operation that's putting the storage too close to maximum capacity. 2 of the 8 operations that were running in parallel finished just a few minutes ago so we're already past the worst of it, but please be patient as the remaining ones will likely take the rest of the week to complete. Performance should slowly return to normal as the affected disks begin to catch up to the rest of the cluster.

I will be sure to recalculate how many operations are safe to run at once before the next batch is queued up.

Thanks for your patience.

Regards,
Colin Vanden Heuvel

This issue is mostly resolved as of yesterday evening. There remains an ongoing maintenance operation which will have a slight performance impact, but that should be at most a few % of overhead.

Best,
Colin
