Hello Euler folks,

DoIT's Network Services team has scheduled another network maintenance period affecting most of the College of Engineering on July 17th. The process will begin shortly after 7:00 PM CDT, and may involve a few outages during which Euler will be unreachable. Our understanding is that there will be two brief outages which affect Euler. The first will likely go unnoticed, and the second may last a few minutes. As with most external network issues, jobs that are already running which do not require access to the public internet will continue to operate normally during that time.

Because this is planned by Network Services, CAE does not have the ability to reschedule or make exceptions for certain machines/networks. I have already asked the person on our team who is coordinating with DoIT to request that our datacenters get processed before other parts of the College of Engineering network in order to minimize the window to the extent possible.

It is our recommendation that users avoid transferring data to or from Euler during that time, and that users should log out during the changes if they are able.

Regards,
Colin Vanden Heuvel
