Hello Euler Users,

It's time once again for Euler's yearly upgrade and maintenance outage. For those who are new to Euler or have forgotten since last year, this is a yearly process in which Euler's login nodes and compute nodes are updated to the latest release version of its OS. After the upgrade, major components of the cluster's operating system may have experienced breaking changes, so it is important to verify that your libraries and tools continue to work as expected afterward.

This year, outages will begin on either Monday, June 9th OR Monday, June 16th. The CAE offices will be closed for asbestos abatement early in June, but the date is not set in stone and we do not know for certain whether we will be allowed onsite to begin maintenance on the 9th. We will notify Euler users once we are able to confirm the date.

Due to our limited staffing, we may not be available to answer questions or provide support during the maintenance window. Please contact CAE at euler-...@engr.wisc.edu if you have questions or concerns on or before Monday, June 2nd. We will NOT be able to reschedule except in the event of an emergency, but we may be able to assist researchers in finding other computing accommodations given enough notice.

Thank you for your continued support.

Regards,
Colin Vanden Heuvel
