Subject: Fw: International Carbon Removal Competition for Students – Applications Due 9 Sept
Hello,
I’m reaching out on behalf of Mission Innovation. My name is Mahia and I will be taking over for Hiranthie Stanford. I am writing to provide a reminder that the deadline for students to submit their applications for the SMART-CDR Competition is Monday, September 9th.
To join the competition, all that is required is for students to form teams of 2-6 undergraduate or graduate students and develop a ~4-page paper describing their concept for a monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) solution in carbon dioxide removal.
To learn more about the competition, check out these resources:

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
Mahia

Subject: FW: International Carbon Removal Competition for Students – Applications Due 9 Sept
Greetings!
I’m reaching out on behalf of Mission Innovation to let you know about an exciting opportunity for university students to participate in a recently launched international competition related to carbon dioxide removal.
The "SMART CDR" Competition -- Student Monitoring and Reporting Technology for Carbon Dioxide Removal -- is a global competition inviting small teams of students to innovate solutions for CDR monitoring, reporting, and verification challenges.
Teams will compete to win cash prizes, expert mentorship, international recognition, as well as travel stipends to attend and present their idea to a global audience during the CDR Conference at the CLIMIT Summit in Norway, 25-27 February, 2025.
Given your leadership in relevant academic programs, I warmly invite you to help raise awareness about the opportunity through your networks. The communications package includes more details about the project as well as templates and images for your use.
By promoting the SMART-CDR Competition you are directly helping us to broaden our reach and increase the number of undergraduate and graduate student applicants.
The Competition is led by the CDR Mission, a coalition of governments driving global R&D collaboration to enable the rapid and responsible scale up of technological CDR solutions.
Details about the Competition are available here:
Applications are due 9 September 2024.
Please feel free to forward this email to others who may be interested. If you have any questions, I am available to assist.
Best regards,
Hiranthie Stanford
