We're excited to share that our new 3D printer [1] is ready for customer jobs. Sam Shields is the new contact for all 3D printing questions and concerns, please reach out to him via email or stop down if you would like to receive training on the new printer.
Here's some highlights:
- higher resolution
- twice as fast
- much cheaper material
- multicolor, multimaterial
- wider variety of plastics
- more robust failure detection
- slightly large build volume
We've got some fancy carbon fiber filament to play with, so if you're curious about that now's a good time to check it out.
Our old printer (from 2016!) is no longer supported by the manufacturer. We plan to continue using it until the filament runs out---we cannot buy more. Feel free to continue to use the old printer if you're familiar with it.
Not sure what to print? There are lots of cool designs online, feel free to find one and try it out.
