The Vervet Monkey Foundation is a sanctuary for over 600 vervet monkeys in South Africa. We rescue orphaned, injured and abandoned vervet monkeys.
A large number of rescues are orphaned baby monkeys we rehabilitate through our fostermum program. In this program, the orphaned babies are adopted by a monkey mum at the age of 6 weeks and released to one of our 15 onsite troops at the age of 3 months, growing up as a part of the monkey family with very strong social bonds.
For next baby season (October 2025-March 2026), we are looking for orphan care interns to support the baby team. Internships are between 6 months and 1 year. We ask for a fee to cover board and accommodation.
