Merry Christmas everyone!
I've been running Fuchsia workstation on the emulator, but now I am looking for actual hardware to run it on.

I see from "fx list-boards" that Chromebook would be supported. (Not sure of the level of support, though.)

So, my question is:
Which Chromebook would have the best support? Or are those so generic, that every device goes? :)

Best regards,

Hi Ville,

Currently we have the following instructions:

Intel NUC hardware is easier to acquire than the 2017 Pixelbook at this point. I think you can also follow the Pixelbook instructions to install on the newer and more affordable Pixelbook Go, but I can't speak from experience.

I would like to clarify two things:

1) Here in Finland "Christmas" is not so charged and polarized as in the US (or in English generally). I respect the community Code of Conduct, and I should have said "Season's greetings" instead. Or just "Hello" :D (I just realized this when I got a copy of my message.)

2) It does not need to be a Chromebook, but recommendations on any retail hardware is welcomed :)

Best regards,
Ville

Hi Ville,

For what it's worth, the same CoC recommends respectful and constructive communication. In particular, it notes

> Remember that Fuchsia is a geographically distributed team and that you
> may not be communicating with someone in their primary language.

Because of this, although a more inclusive seasonal greeting is possible, I'm optimistic that your intent was well-received by the list. Thank you in any case for your acknowledgement :).

Apart from Shai's message, I can also refer you to:

https://fuchsia.dev/fuchsia-src/reference/hardware/support-system-config -- a list of supported system configurations, and
https://fuchsia.dev/fuchsia-src/reference/hardware/drivers -- a list of supported hardware drivers.

That said, Shai's reply likely best answers the "retail" part of your question.

Kind regards,

--dho
