If you are not a user of jiri you can stop reading

Hi all,

Due to a bug that was introduced in jiri several months ago, the tool has stopped updating automatically on every invocation of jiri update. I have resolved this bug at HEAD, however, everyone affected will need to run jiri selfupdate once.

Please run jiri selfupdate and confirm you are back on a version which automatically checks for updates by running jiri version and verify that you see a commit id.

Example output:

nmulcahey@nmulcahey:~/fuchsia$ jiri selfupdate

Tool updated.

nmulcahey@nmulcahey:~/fuchsia$ jiri version

Jiri 426aec0260a8b3efcdd0e20c866fe61bcea947c2 2021-09-30T02:11:23.352455

If you continue to see an output as follows please file a bug against VersionControl>Jiri in monorail.

nmulcahey@nmulcahey:~/fuchsia$ jiri version

Jiri

This will resolve any errors you see updating to HEAD, such as:
ERROR: Moving and updating project "third_party/re2": operations.go:379: rename /home/user/fuchsia/third_party/re2 /home/user/fuchsia/third_party/re2/src: invalid argument

Thanks,
Nathan
