Hi all,
We wanted to share that Fuchsia is moving to a different Issue Tracker to provide a well-supported user experience for the long term. This is planned to complete towards the end of 2023. Please see below for details!
What’s happening
Fuchsia will be migrating all issues, including issue history, from Monorail (bugs.fuchsia.dev) to a different tool: Fuchsia Issue Tracker (issues.fuchsia.dev). Existing Google open source programs already use this tool and other Monorail projects will be migrating eventually.
Google explored different tooling options, as Monorail will no longer be maintained. This tooling change is an effort to provide a feature-rich and well supported issue tracker for Fuchsia’s open source projects. With this migration, Fuchsia is moving to a fully-supported issue tracker with regular feature improvements being deployed. Existing transparency levels will be maintained. This means that existing access to and public disclosure of issues will be maintained in the migration.
Timing
Fuchsia will complete its migration towards the end of 2023 (dates will be shared once finalized).
Post-Migration
While there will be differences, we are working to make the migration straightforward. Once the migration completes, existing Monorail issue links will redirect to the migrated issues in the new issue tracker. There’s no change in requirements to access the Issue Tracker - you will still need a Google account in order to login and interact with the system, and you will continue to be able to browse issues without logging in. Please file feedback with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Victoria, on behalf of the Fuchsia team
