Below are the validation graphics presented to during our Forest Management Task Force presentation and subsequent Introductory Webinars. These figures and metrics represent a preliminary, statewide validation using airborne LiDAR derived vegetation data. These validation data were not used as part of the model training or internal model validation.
In addition to Forest Observatory vegetation, we also compare validation of LANDFIRE canopy fuels in CA, as well as reproducing a figure from Potapov et al (in review) showing a Landsat-GEDI fusion model of tree heights globally. We will update this post with new validation figures and metrics as they become available.
