1) I am particularly interested in better understanding the specific steps that a farm or alternative produce distributor possessing all required certifications (GAP, HACCP etc) and appropriate level of insurance could undertake to become a Sodexo approved vendor.  What is the chain of command, both local and regional to begin this process.  Please provide specific names and contact information where possible i.e. of Regional Account Manager?  They could either contact me or the approved/contracted regional distributor to present themselves and their certifications. If they come to me, I would then contact the distributor on their behalf.

2) What level of traceability back to the farm do you require of your produce vendors and how do you implement this?  This process is managed by the approved/contracted regional distributor.

3) Please inquire if Sodexo is aware of the type of incentivized education that RI is doing to make sure that farmers are trained in GAP and safe food handling practices and when they can show proof of this training, they are put into a special category of "approved vendors" for institutional buyers without the typical $5 million liability insurance requirement.  Sodexo minimum requirement is $5m.   {Christy’s comment- Keep in mind we don’t require 5M if accounts go through Sodexo approved distribution}
