Dear Learning Community,

We are in the process of setting up the fourth and last webinar and conference call for August. We will let you know once the dates and times are confirmed. The focus will be on organizations who work with immigrant farmers in the Northeast, the challenges these farmers face, and how these farmers are addressing food safety and liability insurance issues. Stay tuned!!!

In the meantime, please share resources, programs, and events you come across related to small and limited resource producers and food safety and liability insurance issues through this discussion group!

Below is a resource I found in my files that I thought may be of interest to some of you.

Best wishes,

Kristen

Subject: [COMFOOD:] New Resource for School Garden Safety

Colleagues

The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa has created a new resource for those working with school gardens.  Although it is developed for Hawaii school gardens, it might be germane to any school garden activities.  Check it out.

The booklet is entitled:  Student and Food Safety:  Best Practices for Hawai’i School Gardens
