Good day members of the IAFP Student PDG,

IAFP 2014 is fast approaching! It's time to sign up for the student
monitoring program! As the title implies, you actually get paid to attend
presentations!

If you are attending the IAFP Annual Meeting this year, and you want to
participate in the program, here's what you need to do:

   1. Log in to the IAFP Annual meeting website to view the 2014 IAFP
program. You can find that information here
   https://iafp.confex.com/iafp/2014/webprogram/programs.html
   2. Pick up to 3 choices for sessions you wish to monitor. You can choose
from *Symposia, Technical sessions, Roundtable session, Ivan Parkin
Lecture, Poster Sessions or John Silliker Lecture*.
   3. Check to see if your choices have not been chosen on the google doc below.
If they're open, sign up!  If they're already taken, pick a new one!
Two people are responsible for monitoring each session.
   4. E-mail your name, your choices, and contact information (e-mail
and phone number!!!!!*) to me by *Friday July 11th *My e-mail is ampl...@purdue.edu
Be sure to put the Title and Session prefix in the e-mail
   5. Assignments will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
   6. Attend the session(s), help the speakers and moderators with set-up and any other tasks,
and keep the audience in order
   7. Once the conference has concluded, you will receive a check in the mail
for *$65 Per person per session monitored!*

Once the list is populated, there will be more detailed and specific
instructions going out to participants of this program.
I would like to note that this year we will not be required write session summaries.
It really is that easy and a great opportunity! So go check out the IAFP program and get your
choices into me ASAP!!!

Good morning all,

Thank you to all who have agreed to participate in the session monitoring program.  I had originally stated that you may only sign-up for 3 sessions.  As there are still open slots for some sessions, we will now allow everyone to sign-up for a total of 4 sessions (so one more).

Please take a gander at the schedule/google.doc and see if there are any that you would be interested in.  Also, if you have labmates/colleagues/acquaintances that would be interested in participating, please forward.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Aaron

Good morning all,

I hope you're enjoying the 2014 IAFP conference!  It's been a great week so far with some amazing speakers.

Specific to the session monitoring program, there has been some scheduling issues with Wednesday's sessions.  Specifically, with sessions T9 and T10 during the morning period (8:30AM to noon).  A double booking has occurred where 2 individuals have signed up for these overlapping sessions.  I am petitioning anyone who has signed up for session monitoring Wednesday afternoon (1:30PM to close) to volunteer to switch their sessions for either T9 or T10 to clear up this double booking.

If you'd be willing to help out with this, I 'd greatly appreciate it!  Please let me know!

Best,

Aaron.
