Generating Document from Google Docs results in odd formatting about 50% of the time for spacing related issues of text, with more consistent issues related to odd artifacts within docs.

I've changed the fonts of my templates, no luck.
I've tried new templates to see if the old files had issues in them, no luck.

Really would like to avoid this kind of formatting issue and need help debugging if anyone is familiar with a solution I would be eternally grateful.

List Level Bullet Points
I have this issue where generated Google Documents gets a funky little moon or something as the bullet icon on the second level of lists.

Spacing between Paragraphs
I have spacing in my document styles that get's thrown off by a few points here and there, nothing major, but it leads to inconsistent looks of documents.

Pagination
In my footers I have page numbers that auto increment, eg. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
When generating a document there appears to be a second instance of the footer page number inserted so I get 11, 22, 33, 44, 55

Hi Erik,
what is your input/output type of the documents? Input = Google Docs, Output = PDF?
Would be great if you could share a template so that I can reproduce the issues on my end.
Best,
Daniel

Hey Daniel, that would be super helpful, this has been happening for at least a few years but it would be great to figure out if it can be solved.

I've made a copy of an example template you to take a look at - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sjLpKHGDGVFTuOSQ94tCdo0v1XlaPuD-7LI8SmQ1KLY/edit

Let me know if you have any issues accessing it.

I forgot to mention, I am generating an output of a Google Document to Drive so our team can use this to collaborate together.

Google Doc to Google Doc on Drive (Shared Folders)

I've provided access to the Ultradox File if you'd like to view how it's configured - https://drive.google.com/file/d/15ZWtEdqQiTllGnvTMwZkNx6zlFX6Eabg/view?usp=sharing

Hi Erik,
it looks like a bug in Google Docs. I've downloaded the template as OpenDocument and then uploaded it to Drive and opened it as Google Doc = I get the moons :-/
What you can try to get better/different results:
Use the Word to Google Docs instead, this should export the file in Word format instead and produce a Google Docs from it.
Please let me know if this works for you.
Best,
Daniel

Hey Daniel, much appreciated that you looked into this.

I can't really make use of the Word File unfortunately as it breaks our setup for document management.

I might try it at a later date to see if that works, but hopefully one day this bug will get addressed by Google.... but who knows :)
