In that time, we refined documentation of the TOC governance including roles, responsibilities, and voting rules to ensure that the TOC is equipped to produce high quality outcomes. We also designed a new Lifecycle process which raises the bar for projects while also increasing the efficiency of project acceptance, promotion, and health reviews.

Hey all,
First of all, thank you for the kind words, @Eddie Knight, and thank you for the strong leadership and support in the TOC and elsewhere you provided in your continued chair-ship. I feel honored for this opportunity – for me, FINOS has always been more than just about OSS, it’s about building the shared technical foundations of modern finance and fintech, together. Over the nearly a decade I been involved with FINOS and its previous reincarnations, I have seen firsthand how collaboration between institutions, engineers, and communities do turn ideas into industry infrastructure.
As chair, I plan to continue us on the road Eddie started us:
- Help great projects to grow
- Lower the barrier to contribution
- Strengthen technical governance
- Keep innovation practical and impactful
OSS in finance works because people show up. Maintainers, contributors, architects, and – champions, across firms. I am grateful to work with such an incredible community every day. Looking forward to this next chapter, building even more open, durable and meaningful technologies together. Once again, I would like to thank Eddie for his leadership in the past period, and congratulating @Maria PcParland, who would be serving with me as vice chair. Also, eagerly looking forward to work with @Gabriele Columbro in the future as the TOC’s board representative.

Hey everyone,
I've been pleased to serve the community as Technical Oversight Committee Chair with Peter Smolovics as Vice Chair since 2024.
In that time, we refined documentation of the TOC governance including roles, responsibilities, and voting rules to ensure that the TOC is equipped to produce high quality outcomes. We also designed a new Lifecycle process which raises the bar for projects
while also increasing the efficiency of project acceptance, promotion, and health reviews.
As my term as Chair comes to an end, I'm happy to announce the results of the TOC leadership election!
Through a ranked voting process, the membars of the TOC have collectively expressed a clear confidence in the leadership capabilities of Peter to serve as the new Chair, and Maria as Vice Chair.
They will immediately assume their new responsibilities, and Peter will also now represent us on the FINOS Governing Board.
Please join me in welcoming and congratulating each in their new role!
