Dear FINOS Community,

As FINOS accelerates into an exciting week at Open Source Summit Europe, join Gabriele Columbro, FINOS Executive Director @ 4:15pm GMT / 12:15pm EST for his FINOS breakout session From Zero to Hero: How OSS has become Strategic in the Financial Services Industry.

FINOS has created an open source community in financial services, which is historically a siloed and conservative industry. But as the fintech wave continues to penetrate the industry, open source is now playing a key role in the technology strategy of both incumbent and challenger financial institutions and fintechs. Join this talk to learn how open source is truly making an impact and hear first hand from the Community who's at the forefront of this movement. And if you want to hear even more detail about how we’re shaping open source in financial services join our FINOS mini-summit on October 29th.

Please join Gab for today's opening FINOS breakout session as we head towards the FINOS Mini-Summit at Open Source Summit Europe on Thursday 29th October.

Enjoy and speak soon,

James.

Dear FINOS Community,

Last week was fast paced and exciting at FINOS! As covered by Business Insider and the wider industry media, Goldman Sachs' Legend data modelling platform was successfully contributed to FINOS with Pierre de Belen, Goldman Sachs Managing Director, announcing Legend to the FINOS community. Congratulations to the Legend team for their overwhelmingly successful FINOS contribution!

Not only that, but last week the FINOS Governing Board met for the FINOS Q4 review where DevOps Mutualization and Regulation Innovation were approved as the first FINOS Special Interest Groups. Thank you to all the FINOS project maintainers who joined the FINOS board meeting to represent their focus projects and congratulations to our new SIGs for establishing themselves throughout 2020.

One final thing, the clocks have gone back in the UK which means project start times have shifted by one hour as the UK moves from BST to GMT. Start times in GMT are reflected below, plus you can check the FINOS Project Calendar in EST and FINOS Project Calendar in GMT to confirm start times on the FINOS website.
