Dear FINOS Community,
I am reaching out to you today on the latest updates from the
Financial Objects: Product Control Common Template Working Group. The Product Common Template working group has been hard at work and is excited to announce that the working group is testing a new, open-source data model and template that standardizes how consensus-based pricing information is shared across the industry and this initiative will help address concerns from regulators on dependency on single service provider providing a resolution on disruption risk.
To help us validate the results, I am soliciting more participation from the community, and we are asking you to take part by testing on your end. I have attached a step-by-step submission testing guide to this email that explains how to test the product in your instance.
We have participants successfully
tested the sample data in 3 – 5 hours,
so we are quite optimistic about the broader benefits of the initiative with light investment.
Can we ask you to attend the meeting along with a Product / Valuation Control and a technology colleague;
- Someone who understands the submission process to the vendors for the current providers from a technology point of view
- Someone who has a working knowledge of Java and their firm's policies on consuming open source software (e.g., downloading JAR files from external sources)
Please see the meeting invitation and details below for the next PCCT meeting being held on Monday, June 27th at 10 am ET / 3 pm ET;
Meeting details:
I know this is a lot of information, so please let me know if you have any questions or if it would be helpful to have a quick chat 1:1 with the project maintainers to help you navigate and complete the submission testing
before the meeting
on Monday, June 27th.
We look forward to your continued support and hope you have a great weekend,
Julia
