Dear FINOS Community,

We are excited to announce that the Atomic Accessibility Theme Builder was successfully contributed to FINOS by Discover Financial Services. The new FINOS community project is now hosted at https://github.com/finos/a11y-theme-builder/.

Accessibility Theme Builder is a tool that allows designers and developers to create WCAG v2.1 complaint design systems based on Atomic Design Methodology. The tool generates light and dark mode themes in CSS or JSON allowing these design systems to be easily integrated into component libraries, web applications and even design wireframe assets that use tools such as Figma.

We encourage you to test drive the FINOS hosted version of Accessibility Theme Builder at https://try.a11y-theme-builder.finos.org. Documentation is available at https://a11y-theme-builder.finos.org/.  Both locations include introductory videos to help you better understand our project and its capabilities.  There are a variety of ways to reach out to our community and you will find them at https://github.com/finos/a11y-theme-builder/wiki/Communication#communication-channels.

Your feedback, issues, and contributions are welcome and encouraged. See https://github.com/finos/a11y-theme-builder/blob/main/CONTRIBUTE.md for more information on how to contribute and here are a few areas where we could use your help: https://github.com/finos/a11y-theme-builder/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22good+first+issue%22.

We look forward to building on the momentum we gained from participating in the 2023 Global Accessibility Awareness Day Hackathon and Grace Hopper Celebration. We are also scheduled to present at All Things Open (https://2023.allthingsopen.org/) in Raleigh, NC, USA on Oct 16th and 17th and at the Open Source Finance Forum (https://events.linuxfoundation.org/open-source-finance-forum-new-york/) in New York on Nov 1st.  If you are attending either of these events, please stop by and say hi!

Thank you to the FINOS Community for a warm welcome and all of your support!
