Hi All,
At the FDC3 Standards Working Gorup meeting on Thursday 27th Feb 2025 consent was given to open a vote on the adoption of the current FDC3 pre-draft as the next version of FDC3, 2.2. We revisited the scope of this release in the
FDC3 General meeting a few minutes and will distribute the recording as soon as its been prepared.
It has been almost 2 years since FDC3 2.1 was adopted (june 2023) - during that time the FDC3 community has produced two very significant extensions to the FDC3 Standard that are part of FDC3 2.2:
-
FDC3 for Web Browsers
#896
-
FDC3 .NET binding
#931 / Multiple Language bindings
#990
(with .NET Standard 2.0 declarations provided by the
fdc3-dotnet project contributed by Morgan Stanley)
-
Updated FDC3 Charter
#1023

Poll question: Should the pre-draft, based on the above scope be adopted as FDC3 2.1?
-
Yes, I support the adoption of the current pre-draft as FDC3 2.2! (preformatted
email link)
-
No, I do NOT support the adoption of the current pre-draft as FDC3 2.2 and believe its scope should be reopened for discussion. (preformatted
email link)
-
N.B. Please provide details as to the nature of your objection in the email.
Voting will remain open on this issue until at least midnight BST on Monday 1st April 2025, after which the FDC3 maintainers will meet to determine if there is consensus for adoption.
