[FINOS Community] Welcoming Sitija Sarkar @ Blackrock to the FINOS Governing Board

Dear FINOS Community, 

Hope you’re all doing well. 

So much is going on these days in FINOS-land, but I wanted to take a second to announce a new addition to our Governing Board, following the election which was carried out in Q1.

Following the recent announcement of BlackRock and other 5 members, I’m excited to announce that Sitija Sarkar, Technical Fellow & Managing Director of Blackrock will join our Governing Board as a new Gold Member representative for a 2 year term.

Not only I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Sitjia on a personal basis (her enthusiasm and vision clearly made an impact already with the other Gold members who voted her in), but I cannot understate the value of adding a second (beyond our Vice-Chair Madeleine Dassule) buy-side representative to our Governing Board, to continue accelerating the focus and value we deliver to this constituency through projects like FDC3 and beyond. 

Please join me in congratulating Sitija on her appointment and welcoming her to the Governing Board. I have every confidence that you’ll bring a fresh perspective, and will make an immediate impact, not only for your firm but to represent the Gold Member class and the wider FINOS community with dedication. 

Thank you to those who participated in the election process, whether through casting votes or presenting their candidacies and pitches. And don't forget 3 more Gold seats will be opening up at the EOY, so we will be carrying out Gold elections again in Q4. And - shameless plug alert - If you are not a Gold Member, definitely a good time to consider becoming one :)

In closing, don't forget to get registered ASAP for our upcoming OSFF in London (June 26th) and NYC (Sept 30/Oct 1st). It will be an amazing opportunity to learn about the amazing progress this community is making. Something you all should absolutely be proud of.
