Subject: May 8th Open Source Readiness WG meeting

Today's working group meeting (10am EDT/3pm BST) will be a guided discussion of the process of publishing an internal product as open source software. We'll explore the following questions and discuss alternative approaches:

- What are the characteristics to look for in a candidate for open sourcing?
- How should the proposal be pitched internally?
- How should the value of the product as proprietary IP be evaluated?
- How should the license be chosen?
- Where should the project be hosted?
- What should the contribution policy be?
- What internal policies should govern employees' interaction with the project?
- When and how should unmaintained projects be transitioned or removed?

Hi Jim,

Anyone who is subscribed to the Open Source Readiness general list in Google Groups (subscribe through the GG web interface at https://groups.google.com/a/finos.org/forum/#!forum/osr or send an email to osr+su...@finos.org) should be getting an invite. If you're subscribed to the OSR general list and not getting an invite to the WG, please send a note to he...@finos.org so we can look into what's going on. More info about our Google Group mailing lists can be found on our wiki here (https://finosfoundation.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FINOS/pages/77955298/Engage+Our+Community)

More generally all meetings of projects and working groups within the 11 FINOS programs are available through the FINOS programs calendar, which itself is a Google calendar that can be added/imported as desired.

Thanks,

Rob

Is it possible to send these as calendar invites, that way they are automatically added to our calendar?

Cheers!
