I’m excited to announce the submission of the Electron FDC3 project for contribution into FINOS.  This project provides a fully open source implementation of FDC3 that includes all elements of the standard.

The project currently features the following:

  • An FDC3 desktop agent built with Electron, React MUI, Typescript, and Vite

  • A file-based app directory implementation in Node.js

  • FDC3 1.2 compliance

The aim of this project is to serve as a viable open core for FDC3 developers and accelerate adoption of the standard while promoting a robust ecosystem of applications supporting interoperability.   Your feedback (and participation!) regarding this contribution is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Thank you Nick!

Exciting to see you, one of earlier FINOS individual supporters and early contributors to the FDC3 standard, being back in action in the FINOS community :)

I encourage all of our Community Members and contributors to comment on the issue to identify your interest / feedback / thoughts on effectively having a reference implementation for FDC3 agent / directory in our Community ( +f...@finos.org FYI).

Thanks,

Gab

Congratulations Nick and FINOS from the Cosaic team, that's a great achievement!

I look forward to checking out the project and am sure it will help, not only with adoption, but with other projects such as the conformance framework commissioned by FINOS and being implemented by the ScottLogic team (the first iteration of which is under review right now at https://github.com/finos/FDC3/pull/615). Both projects will be top of my to-do list when I get back from vacation.

I guess we'll also have to update the getting started resources article we've just published:

Once again, congratulations and thanks for another big contribution to the success of FDC3.

K
