Hi there!

Next week, I will be in London to meet with our London-based community. We have several exciting events planned to bring together developers, practitioners, and innovators to advance open source and AI in financial services.

Here's what's happening:

📍 AI Evaluation & Benchmarking Suite / Scoping Workshop

Date: Friday, 19 September 2025, 1pm BST
Location: London

This member-only workshop aims to shape the roadmap for an open and transparent evaluation and benchmarking suite for GenAI in finance. We will address the shortcomings of existing benchmarks, system-level complexity, and the unique challenges of evaluating agents. Register Here

📍 AI Evaluation & Benchmarking Suite / TechSprint

Date: Saturday, 20 September 2025, 9am BST
Location: London + Virtual

This is a hands-on sprint to turn ideas into working code. Collaborate with peers to prototype evaluation tools and benchmarks that financial institutions can actually use. Register Here

📍 FINOS Developer Day @ APIdays London

Date: Monday, 22 September 2025
Location: London (part of APIdays London)

We have curated six tracks for our developer community during API Days London. This half-day event will feature talks, demos, and collaboration across the FINOS community, exploring open source adoption, interoperability, data standards, and AI in finance.

🎟️ Use voucher code FINOSDEVDAY for complimentary access. Register Here

I hope to see you there!

Luca

Just to echo Luca, benchmarking and evaluation is one of those areas where the transparency that only open source can provide is definitely a differentiator vs the easily gameable single vendor benchmarks.

Plus it's an area that clearly a large chunk of members have identified as pre-competitive, so very suitable for open source collaboration. I'm sure many have seen the experimentation in Labs around the open financial LLM leaderboard since last year.

So:
  • FINOS members in London: don't miss the chance to shape the scope and direction of this work on Friday 19th! Register here for the in person workshop.
  • Everyone (globally): join the (hybrid) workshop on Saturday 20th and get coding! Register Here for the hybrid tech sprint!
Looking forward to seeing open source conquer this space as well!
