Hello Community!

 

We (the TOC) are thrilled to share the results of the recent Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) election. As you know, the TOC is a critical body helping the board that guides them with technical vision, governance, and the overall health of all the projects in FINOS.

 

This time, we had four seats to fill, all appointed by the Governing Board (GB).

 

Before getting to the newly appointed members, I want to stop and express a massive Thank You for Chris Twiner (UBS) and Vincent Caldeira (Red Hat) – they have been incredible assets to the TOC and the Board. Both of your leadership and thoughtful insights will be missed from the committee onwards, and we are deeply grateful for all your contributions!

 

 

So, without further ado, here are the results of the 2026 Summer TOC Elections:

 

  • Erick Bourgeois (RBC), newly appointed governing board elected seat, is the lead maintainer of 5-Spot, and has active interest in HPC, CNCF, CC4AI, AIGF and CALM. He has presented at multiple OSFF conferences – come to the next one to meet him! Glad to have you join us, looking forward to working with you!
  • Boris Litvin (Amazon), newly appointed governing board elected seat, is an active contributor to the OpenGris project, with his interests being in HPC, AI and ML. He has presented at multiple OSFF conferences – come to the next one to meet him! Glad to have you join us, looking forward to working with you!
  • Eddie Knight (Revanite), who is getting his previously board elected seat renewed, has been a key leader in the FINOS community for many years. He served as TOC chair, and has been an active contributor to FINOS’s CCC, TOC’s new Project Lifecycle, OpenSSF’s OSPSB, LF’s LFX Insights and CNCF’s AGMM. He has presented at multiple OSFF conferences – come to the next one to meet him! We are lucky and happy to continue have his leadership and institutional knowledge in the TOC.
  • Matthew Bain (Morgan Stanley), who is getting his previously board elected seat renewed, is the lead maintainer of FINOS’s CALM, co-lead for the FINOS DevOps Automation SIG, and is an active contributor to Architecture-as-Code, TraderX, and TOC’s new Project Lifecycle. He has presented at multiple OSFF conferences – come to the next one to meet him! We are lucky and happy to continue have his leadership and institutional knowledge in the TOC.

 

The new members, Erick and Boris, and the renwe will being their terms immediately and hold their seats until July 2028.

 

 

The strength of FINOS leadership, the TOC and the community come from these dedicated leaders, who are not afraid to step up to commit to the complex governance work. Please do join me in congratulating Erick, Boris, Eddie, and Matt on their new roles, and once again, thank you, Chris, and Vincent, for all your fantastic contributions.
