Hello All
I am interested in attending the Automate Conference this year but I need to know if it will benefit me as an end user.
I'm not a developer - more of an implementer - but I'm looking for a method of authentication that uses only proximity. Simply entering within several feet of the terminal logs you in hands free. I assume that would be accomplished by a prox device worn by the employee.
I know about prox cards , smart cards and biometric options but I need completely hands (and face) free technology.
I have not found anything like that so far and I was hoping that the conference would show me technologies like this.

You are welcome to attend the Authenticate conference if you wish, Mac -
but the problem you described was addressed 4-5 years ago - you can find
the implementation described in great detail in NIST SP1800-13:
Note that at that time it leveraged FIDO U2F; today, it would use FIDO2
protocols.
There were some companies who came out with other biometric devices that
did not need to be visible - with integrated continuous pulse-EKG
readings - and authenticated the user to systems over wirelessly. Not
sure if they are still around - but the people who were behind that
device are still accessible on LinkedIn - and may even be reading this
e-mail and may get in touch with you.
If you are interested, send me an LI connection request and I'll connect
you with him.
