Dear WG V Members,
I hope you all are well.
As the year winds down I want to first apologize for any confusion that arose because of my absence from the Lisbon meeting. I was unable to attend and our Co-Chair Yinshuang generously stepped in to lead the meeting in my place. However, I did not effectively communicate that change with you or the broader FDSN community, resulting in some portions of the meeting perhaps not running as smoothly as they could have. I am sorry.
I am writing today to let you know that in a few weeks I will meet with the FDSN Executive Committee where I will provide a brief status report on WG V projects. Please pass along any issues or concerns you would like me to raise during that meeting, or materials you would like me to present.
Note that materials from Lisbon are already posted here — https://fdsn.org/wg/wgV/ — including the presentation by the Marine Seismology Metadata and Data Standards Action Group (for which Wayne deserves much praise!). Feel free to pass along anything else you would like posted or updated on the website.
Thank you very much. I will back in touch next month after the meeting.
All the best,
Joel
Chair, WG V
PS: Though I am still working on the MERMAID project, I am no longer at Princeton, so please remove my jds...@princeton.edu address (deactivated).
