IANA Media (MIME) types for miniSEED 2 and 3 and StationXML

Dear Working Groups 2 and 3,

The IANA Media Type (formerly known as MIME types) for miniSEED has been updated to describe both miniSEED 2 and miniSEED 3:

https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/vnd.fdsn.mseed

Furthermore, a Media Type has been allocated to describe StationXML:

https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/vnd.fdsn.stationxml+xml

These media types are encouraged for use in web services, data formats, databases and other places where describing the payload as an FDSN standard is appropriate.
