Click the link here to view the slide deck from this month's meeting.  Click this link to add next month's meeting to your calendar.  Spotlight on CPS CPS Implementation of the Accelerated Placement Act On June 26, 2019, the CPS Board of Education voted to adopt a policy in response to the State of Illinois Accelerated Placement Act, which allows for Early Entrance to Kindergarten, Early Entrance to First Grade, Whole-Grade Acceleration (also known as grade skipping) and Single-Subject Acceleration (acceleration in math and/or reading). Please consider and reflect on the proposed policy shifts below and provide your perspective on each area of change. RFQ for Sustainable Community Schools Initiative Ref. #: 24-858 The Board of Education of the City of Chicago (the “Board”) is seeking Not-For-Profit organizations to pre-qualify to provide out-of-school programs and services to students and families in the Chicago Public Schools (“CPS”) Sustainable Community Schools Initiative (“SCS”). Exploring Our New School Profiles As part of the implementation process for CIDT, CPS has made major updates to our school profiles to support the District's new approach. In addition to the information you’re used to seeing, profiles will now begin to include expanded data about how the District and schools support the whole child.  Feedback is needed. Additionally, we're here to offer valuable interview tips. You are welcome to submit any questions/reflections on resumes or any other topic and we will do our best to answer as many as possible. Then, Eugene Robinson, CPS’s Inaugural Director of Black Student Success, will join Dominique McKoy, Executive Director at the To&Through Project, for a conversation about the district’s Black Student Success Plan and Chicago’s collaborative efforts to transform educational experiences for Black learners.
