Deadline: Friday, January 16, 2026 before 5:00pm
In the spirit of the exhibition Elizabeth Catlett: “A Black Revolutionary Artist and All That It Implies,” the Art Institute invites Chicago-area teens of all cultures and backgrounds, ages 13–19, to create a work of art that reflects the change they want to see in society. Selected works will be displayed in the museum or online for our 2026 Teen Art Showcase, Art as Resistance.
The artists selected for this showcase will be announced by the end of February 2026 and celebrated with a reception on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Selected artworks will be printed and displayed in the Art Institute’s McCormick Gallery beginning March 4, 2026. Three artists will be awarded additional prizes based on the theme of the showcase.
