| Parent Mentor Program Funded $22.5 Million!! |
| We are thrilled to share that the Parent Mentor Program has officially secured $22.5 million in state funding! 20 Million for the Parent Mentor Program and 2.5 Million for the Ladders of Opportunity Program. This historic investment will allow the Parent Engagement Institute to expand its reach across Illinois, prioritizing schools that are 80% or more low-income, rural, and/or outside of Chicago. This victory is a testament to the power of collective action. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every parent, partner, and advocate who lobbied in Springfield, and to all of our champion legislators who fought to make this funding a reality. With this new investment, more parents will be equipped to support classrooms, lead community-building efforts, and strengthen the connection between home and school. We’re proud of this achievement, and even more excited for what it means for the future of parent power across Illinois! |

The Far South CAC is developing a comprehensive directory of youth summer programs happening across the South Side. | | It's time to celebrate! We are so excited that all the lobbying and advocacy paid off! The Parent Mentor Program is a community gem!! Like many other community organizations and initiatives, we must fight for sustainability. Nothing will be handed to us, so I say, BRING IT ON!
