Applications Now Open: 2026 I-NOMA Design Build Community Partner RFP

Since 2017, the Illinois Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (I-NOMA) Design Build program has engaged minority high school students in renovating and transforming community spaces. Participating students gain hands-on experience in architecture, design, construction, and teamwork.

I-NOMA partners with a community-based nonprofit that needs design services and has the capacity to provide the resources necessary for a successful partnership. We are excited to continue this tradition of excellence with our 2026 nonprofit partner!

Design Build Purpose & Mission:

  • Introduce high school minority youth to the design and construction process
  • Improve the space of a community-based non-profit organization
  • Leverage I-NOMA's resources to maximize impact in our communities
  • Connect youth with design and construction professionals
  • Help build youth/character life lessons

Local nonprofit organizations are invited to apply to become the 2026 Design Build partner and collaborate with high school students, mentors, and volunteers to create impactful community-centered spaces.

Interested organizations are encouraged to attend our virtual Information Session on June 18, 2026, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM to learn more about the program, application process, and partnership expectations.

Visit i-noma.org to register and learn more about this opportunity.

Applications should be submitted by 11:59 PM on July 3, 2026. Please reach out if you need an extension.

Please contact us at Desig...@i-noma.org with any questions and share with your networks!
