Hello All,
I received this email regarding storm damage to the Barnstable repeater. Chris Leger is asking for donations to fund a new antenna and hopefully have it availble when the tower climber makes the other scheduled repairs.
I am forwarding this to the FARA Board for consideration, I will present this request and the Board's response at our October 30th meeting.

Hello,
Last weekend's storm caused the Barnstable repeater antenna to have some issues. If you've been on the repeater you will notice that the signal strength has drastically decreased and the audio is noisy. While the repeater is not owned by BARC, many of our members do use it in a regular basis. The repeater was replaced by Steve Boyson, N1VLG, at his own expense last year. It is now connected virtually through Wires-X with the N1VLG repeater at the Dennis PD and with the K1RK repeater in Falmouth.
A climber will be replacing other antennas on the same tower as the W1SGL repeater in the near future. A request has been made by Chris Blake, KC1CPB, to ask BARC and FARA members to contribute to the purchase of a new antenna so that it can be raised at the same time as the other antennas. A search is being made as you read this to find one. Please consider sending Chris a check to help cover the cost of a new antenna.
