Day 1 of teaching

Hello All,

Yesterday I had the pleasure of teaching maths to class 6 students of Konijerla high school. It was a great experience and the children are very smart.

Please share some teaching tips for me as I am new to evidyaloka and also I would like to thank evidyaloka for providing me this opportunity.

Hi Karuna,

Congratulations on successfully completing your first class with the kids. Of course they are smart, they live in the real world unlike our overly protected kids. They may not have all the amenities and luxuries, in fact I am sure majority of the kids lack the necessities of life, but they are educated by the fields their parents till and the endless labour their mothers do. They only need lots of confidence and the right tools and then I am sure these kids will come out on the top. It's a shame that our educational system doesn't do justice to these kids, but let's try to change that, one small step at a time. 

Please keep sharing any special thoughts  you may have had. I was planning to have my first class today morning and had planned my day around it but when the time came there was nothing.. the skype ids were offline etc. So I called up the coordinator and was informed that the class wouldn't be held today. It was a big letdown since I was really looking forward to it. Anyways, let's wait for the next week.
