Hello All,

I have conducted few sessions for Maths VII std with Udnabad , Jharkhand school.

Today I tried to share screen through SKYPE , an excel file where I had prepared a number line to be shown to students.  In first place, it did not download at all and secondly, video was disturbed due to this screen sharing.
I am just clueless what to do for this.
I think something visual is needed for students to concentrate and also to copy down.

To develop a rapport with students, I call them by first name.
However, few students who seat at back, some times do not write I feel.
I want to ask , can we tell the teacher over there to make them sit in the same place for every session?
or can I make a group of say, 5 students and ask one separate example for each group?
So that it would be easy for me to recognize students and also I can pay more attention to those who really need it.

Also I want to understand what computer setup they have at their classroom.

Sorry if I am asking  lot of questions, but it is a serious attempt to make the interaction more fruitful for students and to have more command on total classroom.

Today I concluded the session by asking them what they want to be in future, doctor, teacher or anything else.
I am now waiting for their answers in next session.

All opinions and feedbacks are most welcome.

Regards,
Harshada
Pune.

HI,

For skype issue, try stopping video when you are sharing and see if it makes any difference.

I am also new to teaching , I have made groups and leaders for teams. They help me check if the homework is done and keep some discipline.
I keep changing the group positions. For example: One group sits in front one day and next time another group sits in front.

Videos have been good to draw some attention and calling out their names.
I am planning to include some games in my next class for teaching.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
Yeshaswini
