Hello everyone!

I want to welcome you to phase III of X24 Europe. Now that we are 30 days into the Adriatic tragedy, it is time for us to consider what kind of challenges we will be facing trying to restore and rebuild the affected areas and their peoples. First thing to consider is that pestilence will most likely be widespread after an earthquake/tsunami. We will see rats, we will see mosquitos, we will see bacterial diseases flourishing due to a lack of cleanup. People will be tired of living in refugee camps and will want to go to their homes. WIll it be safe to do so? In Haiti a lack of clean water and sanitation led to an outbreak of cholera throughout the refugee camps. Much of the population fled into North and South America, or wherever they could travel. Undoubtably this has potential to spread disease to other parts of the world. How can we prevent this? What effect will this have on recovery efforts? How can we prepare for this challenge?
Does there exist a protocol to prevent this situation?
