X24Europe TEST NOT REAL

Christoph,

You are doing a great job!!!

Recommend you get a conversation/spread sheet up for OPS Cluster for "usable" infastructure and begin publishing/reporting via Crowdmapping.  This will facilitate organizations pushing people and assets to those locations.

Additionally, we discussed the crowdmap only shows damaged infastructure and should probably show both damaged, slightly damaged, and undamaged.  This can facilitate repairs and priority for repair. (new symbology probably too hard to do for this exercise but worth the thought and discussion).

Respectfully,
Mart

I could build out a small collection of icons/categories for key usable infrastructure.  If you all could tell me what would be a good collection, I can have them built our by the start of the exercise tomorrow.

Mart, thanks for the compliments and right back! It is a pleasure working with you!

Our team already put the airports in the crowdmap - just without damages. Indeed it would be interesting for future maps, to get some color coding to the symbols, e.g. green - fully usable, yellow - partial damage, red - full damage or else..

so I think, we should carry on this way - or do you have someone at hand who will create a second map?

Greetings
Christoph

If you're going the green, yellow, red direction, might as well borrow fully from MCI (mass-casualty incident) protocols and add a 'black' tag for, in this case, beyond repair/lost. Defining the categories so they are understood by all is a touch tricky, but this labeling system for now seems like it will be quite useful.

Aside: There's a mild political element to such a move of course since labels tend to stick, local forces may not appreciate being told their area/resources are 'dead', etc.

Aaron, thanks for your input! My statement was only meant as a "rough" suggestion. Any comments (as yours) welcome!
