Dear Trustee Brown:

On behalf of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), I write to follow up on my invitation to attend a CFR State and Local Officials Webinar via Zoom on Wednesday, May 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EDT).

Steven A. Cook, Eni Enrico Mattei senior fellow for Middle East and Africa studies at CFR, will provide an update on the Iran war, including the latest developments on the ground, regional dynamics shaping the trajectory of the war, and implications for U.S. foreign policy. Amy Myers Jaffe, director of the energy, climate justice, and sustainability lab at New York University’s School of Professional Studies, will discuss the energy market implications of the Iran war, both globally and in the United States. A question-and-answer session will follow their opening remarks. Please note that the webinar, including the question-and-answer portion, will be on the record.

To respond, click the Register or Decline button. We will send the meeting access instructions the day prior to the webinar. This invitation is transferable but limited to state and local officials and their staffs. If a colleague wishes to register, they may write to statea...@cfr.org with their name, professional title, and affiliation.

I look forward to your participation.

Best regards,
Irina
