Travis, probably as a result of being affiliated with the fire district, and now the town, I have been inundated with calls and messages asking for the most current information, or, what the best resource is for those seeking the info. I have a number of resources to direct people to depending on what they're looking for, but with the constantly changing information, especially with regard to access in and out of our community, do you think it is reasonable to establish one page that was clearly identified on the estes.org homepage with the most current information available from the Town at the top, and a list of partner agency resources in the lower section that could be static? This would provide a single answer to provide to callers across all departments to give the most current information that the town had available?

In summary, a single point of information, versus checking four Facebook pages three state pages two federal pages Etc.

I hope this perspective is helpful from the front line, and might help alleviate some of the pressure and demand for information.

Thank you

Mark

Good morning Trustee Igel,

Thanks for the idea/message! Our Public Information team has put together a webpage that is now linked at the top of "Hot Topics" on our homepage. This page is a one-stop shop for links to the most up-to-date information from the USFS, Boulder County, and evacuations. The direct link to our page is: estes.org/emergency

We are also resharing information from all of these sites directly to the Town's Facebook page (also present on our homepage). This serves as the "single page" clearinghouse without stepping out of our lane with regard to the official communications from the teams overseeing the fires.

Best,

TM

Travis, thanks for the quick work.

Unfortunately the cotrip.org map was not accurate most of the night, showing US36 open, even though their other messaging indicated westbound traffic was closed at 66 for anyone headed to Estes Park. Looks like they have recently updated the map. It's difficult when there are multiple sources of information, so I think the single page of info for the town is a good move.

Good luck with everything today, let me know if I can be helpful.

Mark
