Hello Mr. Igel,

Did TAB receive the complaint form I emailed over the weekend?  I ask because I am not sure that it went through. I sent it as an upload because it was lengthy. Even after uploading, the website would not send it unless I added some text in the message area as well. So I simply typed in "See above." Then I clicked on "submit."

Please let me know if TAB did not receive it.

Thanks.

Ms Myers,

I appreciate you following up on the message you sent through the town portal. I have not seen it, but that would not be out of the ordinary. Although I am the liaison for TAB as the link between the two boards, a message submitted would most likely go to the TAB Chair via the Town Clerks office. It would then be shared with the entire TAB membership via email if timely, or at the next meeting as public comment. I will copy the Clerks office on this response so that they may follow up with you to confirm it was received, or request you resubmit if it was not.

In any case, you may email any trustee individually, or all trustees when there's an issue that you want heard by the elected Board members. I will say that the written word (email) is good to communicate details and the complete story now and for future reference, while an in-person appearance at any Town Board meeting is best to convey tone and emotion when appropriate. Not knowing the contents of your message, I hope that these options will provide a good avenue to be heard.

Please stay in touch with me,

Mark Igel, Trustee

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

My complaint was about the speeding traffic on Fish
Creek Road. I went into considerable detail, including timing the cars that passed by residence on the corner of Fish Creek and Rambling. I was able to get an approximate value for the speed of passing cars (I took calculus in college, tho this was much simpler than calculus!). The "stats" are alarming.

I sent the form in because I believe it is a dangerous situation for people to blatantly ignore the posted speed limits. I think it is inevitable that someone will get hurt, especially a cyclist riding along a blind curve where this is no road shoulder. Or there will be someone going too fast to stop for an elk or deer crossing the road, and will swerve and hit another car, or a ped on the Trail...you get the idea.

I intend to come to the next Board meeting, but it is more than 2 weeks away.  Now that the Summer season is in swing, I wanted to get this to the right people asap.

I will take your good advice and email each Board member a copy of the complaint.

I will keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Carol Myers

Ms Myers,

Having read the general details of the issue, If I may suggest the next step would be to share this information with the Police department. I will copy Chief Stewart on this email so that he may direct your concern to the right person, or agency, as the jurisdiction may be in the county and State Patrol responsibility- he will know. I have a feeling that the staff of the PD will handle this concern professionally. I don't believe you need to take any additional action at this time, and someone should contact you for more information.

Mrs. Myers,

I just checked with dispatch to confirm my understanding of the town limits in this area.  A large portion of Fish Creek Road is unincorporated Larimer County outside of town limits and not in our jurisdiction.   This includes the area of the road that has Little Valley, Rambling, Sanborn, Carriage and Aspen (among others). I will ask that our officers be on the lookout for speeders in this area when we are traversing it to get from one portion of town to another.  I will also forward your email to the LCSO Watch Commander for this area (Josh Fast), the LCSO Traffic Sergeant (Sam Roth), and the State Patrol Captain (Bart Trippel) as they are most appropriate for speed enforcement in this area.

Please feel free to reach out to me if there are any specific questions I can attempt to answer.

Respectfully.
Ian

No problem Sir.  With that second email you provided I see if there is anything more the PD can directly do in town limits.

Carol,

The form you submitted was successful and has been received by Public Works staff. This will most likely be provided to the Transportation Advisory Board at their next meeting. I have copied Administrative Assistant for Public Works, Lani McDonald, in this email. She would be able to follow up with you if you need more information.

Thank you,
Kimberly

Good afternoon Trustee Igel and Ms. Myers. The Clerk's office was able to verify that the complaint form completed on June 2, 2024 was delivered to publicworks.org.  Staff in Public Works would have handled the email as outlined by Trustee Igel in his earlier response.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
