Help Us Make a Difference
Every child deserves to feel safe, cared for, and heard. Your support of CASA of Larimer County makes that possible for children in our local community who have experienced abuse and neglect.
Please make a gift today to ensure that children have a trusted advocate by their side and that families in crisis receive the support they need to build a healthier future.
CASA of Larimer County continues to see a growing need for advocacy and support from children and families in our community. With your help, we can expand our reach and meet the increasing demand for services in the year ahead.
Your support ensures we can continue standing with families and children when it matters most. Together we make meaningful change.

The Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) team at CLC holds ongoing, rolling Caregiver Packages to bring trauma-informed parenting support to families across Northern Colorado. In the virtual classroom, parents and caregivers are able to learn, connect, and practice tools and techniques for building stronger relationships with their children. Many participants finish the curriculum with new insights that have strengthened their confidence moving forward. One mother shared the following after completing the Caregiver Package:
"I think my own deep trauma has caused me to dissociate/check out, among other problems, which led to some of the things that are coming up in my children’s attachment patterns. I’ve been blaming myself for that reaction, thinking it was because I’m a bad person/evil…but taking TBRI, it has helped me to understand that that's the way I've been surviving this whole time. I need to actually leave the room and maybe go to the kitchen or my room and let my kids know I will be right back. Or get a snack to help my own brain and body regulate, so then I can help my kids regulate."
TBRI® is helping parents to understand their children's needs and the impact of trauma while learning actionable tools. This creates the opportunity for connection and felt safety, which empowers families to build healthier futures together.

Alicia Armentrout
November Volunteer of the Month
| | | | |
Please join us in congratulating our volunteer of the month,
Alicia Armentrout!
Can you share a little bit about your case and youth you're working with?
I work with the most adorable 8-year-old. She is funny and resilient, and absolutely will tell you what she wants, and she will take care of it if need be. Asking for sliced pickles for her cheese pizza? Yes, that too.

What has your experience been like as a CASA?
After 2 or 3 cases, I served as Peer Supervisor, which was interesting to see this role from an outside perspective and support new CASAs. I've served on multiple cases where the child ended up out of state, but that has made me appreciate how great the professional staff at Larimer County is to work with.
