Campaign stops in Santa Fe on July 30 for live podcast taping, bringing together New Mexico’s leading advocates for public lands
SANTA FE—The Center for Western Priorities’ Keep Parks Public campaign is back on the road this summer to draw attention to the threats facing America’s parks and public lands. The campaign will arrive in Santa Fe on July 30 with a live podcast taping of the Center for Western Priorities podcast, The Landscape, to explore how the Trump administration’s actions and congressional threats are putting New Mexico’s parks and public lands in peril.
The Trump administration is cutting funding for America’s most cherished places, removing vital public lands workers, and trying to sell off public lands to pay for tax cuts for billionaires—all at the expense of public access. We're visiting communities across the West to highlight attacks on our public lands and encourage communities to rally in support of the people and places they love.
The Trump administration, including Bureau of Land Management Director and former New Mexico Congressman Steve Pearce and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, is attacking public lands in New Mexico. Their management decisions are impacting Chaco Canyon, Tribal relationships, and recreation opportunities across the state. Come learn more from our expert panel.

The Keep Parks Public campaign is a project of the Center for Western Priorities, which is partnering with local conservation groups to elevate the voices of leading experts on threats to public lands, from budget cuts and funding freezes to attempts to sell off public lands entirely.
The Keep Parks Public tour kicked off in July 2025, making stops in Denver, Las Cruces, Tucson, Flagstaff, Moab, Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, and Jackson. This summer, we’re heading to Santa Fe (7/30), Tucson (8/28), and more locations around the West.
