Ethics for Financial Coaches and Counselors

This year, the Colorado Department of Law’s value of the year is Ethics and Excellence. The Department of Law has celebrated this value in its work, including special programming and continuing education. The Office of Financial Empowerment extended this value to its work with the Colorado Financial Coaching Community (CFCC).

On November 5th, the OFE hosted a webinar titled Ethics for Financial Coaches and Counselors. The webinar focused on core elements of ethics for financial coaches and counselors, including confidentiality, conflicts of interest, policies, and procedures that protect clients and staff. The webinar offered attendees the chance to collaborate with peers to tackle some challenging, real-life ethical scenarios and s part of the OFE’s ongoing series and work fostering excellence in financial coaching and counseling through the CFCC.
