 PRESIDENT'S LETTER
Dear Leaguers,
Several of our members attended the National Philanthropy Day event at the YMCA-it is such a wonderful event showcasing the many nonprofit organizations here in Estes Park. The League of Women Voters of Estes Park had a table for the Voter Service and the Community Recycling Committees. In addition, the Junior Elections also was highlighted. The League of Women Voters of Estes Park is very proud of all the student voters who participated in Junior Elections for this election cycle. The League is also very appreciative of the educators in the schools and the staff at the Learning Center, the Community Center, and the Estes Valley Library for their support of the Junior Elections.
Please join us for the next Zoom Coffee on December 13, 2025 at 10:00 with Karen Sheek, former President of the Colorado League and currently on their Board as Director of Local League Support, to learn more about the Colorado League’s focus and initiatives.
January has our largest number of membership renewals, and this issue of League Lines has information to help with using the new National LWV portal at https://portal.lwv.org/membership If you need any help or want to renew by check, contact our Membership Chair, Becky O’Connor, who will get you the help you need! Her email is membe...@lwv-estespark.org
Wishing you a wonderful Holiday Season!
Yvonne Salfinger

UPCOMING RENEWAL PERIOD FOR 55 OF OUR MEMBERS

Hello League Members,

It's time for many of you to renew. During the month of January, about 40% of our overall membership is up for renewal, so we want to be sure the renewal process goes smoothly!  Membership renewal will be a little different this year. To ensure your membership stays current, please renew as soon as you can after you receive a renewal notice.

You should receive renewal notices as follows:

·       60 days prior to expiration from the National League of Women Voters (LWV) – if you are due for a renewal in January, you should have already received your first notification to renew.

·       30 days before expiration from the National LWV

·       On your expiration date from  the National LWV

·       After your expiration date, from LWV Estes Park

You will be considered inactive if you do not renew by 60 days past your expiration.

Here are some important things to know about renewals:

GENERAL HOW TOS

·       Renewals are processed through the National LWV portal.  You will sign on using your email address and then receive a code through your email to complete the sign on process.

·       The recommended dues rate is $75 per member, but you can pay any amount over the minimum dues rate of $20.

·       To renew online, go here https://portal.lwv.org/.  You can do this even if you do not receive the renewal notices!

·       To renew manually, send your check and mail it to: LWV-Estes Park; 453 E. Wonderview Ave., Unit 3; PMB 188; Estes Park, CO  80517.

IF YOU FORMERLY HAD A FAMILY/ HOUSEHOLD MEMBERSHIP

The LWV no longer offers family memberships, but when you renew, you will be given the option to also renew for a second person. To do so, check the box on the renew form indicating this and the additional fields for renewing a second person will appear.  Two things to be aware of:

·       The dues amount you choose to pay will be the same for each member.

·       Each member must have a unique email, which the system uses as your sign on.

TO MAKE A DONATION AT TIME OF RENEWAL

When going through the online renewal process, you may use the donate screens to indicate the amount you wish to contribute.  This will ensure 100% of your intended donation goes to LWV Estes Park.  If you increase your dues amount and don’t clearly indicate that the increase is a donation, the excess will be pro-rated to the national, state, and local leagues for membership using the standard dues allocation of 33%, 47%, and 20%.  You may also send a donation check directly to LWV EP at: LWV-Estes Park; 453 E. Wonderview Ave., Unit 3; PMB 188; Estes Park, CO  80517.  We appreciate all donations made!

Please contact Membership Director Becky O'Connor at  membership@lwv-estespark.org with any questions or issues related to the renewal process.  Thank you so much for your prompt attention to this important matter!

Thank you so much for your continued support!

Becky O'Connor

WHAT IS UNITE & RISE 8.5?
The LWVUS has organized Unite & Rise 8.5 whose aim is to build a movement of 8.5 million individuals to unite and rise up against the anti-democratic actions of the current administration. Launched in May 2025 and running through the 2026 midterm elections, this initiative is part of our Women Defend Democracy campaign.
