Coupla questions about the LED tree in Bond Park:
Does the town own it outright, or do we rent it?
Besides the Tree Lighting and the Festival of Lights parade, what is the town doing to promote it? Are there any events for locals (caroling,Grinch costume parties) to encourage civic use of the tree? Are there any food trucks at Bond Park on Fridays and Saturdays every December weekend.
It is impressive. Are we shooting for Sphere impressive, which directly generates income and word of mouth perpetuating this income, or Times Square LED signs impressive, which drive business to the area?
Both provide information/PSAs and sell advertising space. Does the Bond Park tree do either?
Although the two communities aren't comparable, and one is closer to Boulder, Lyons appeared to have less technologically advanced lights and fuller parking lots in their downtown business district this past Saturday night than Estes. Obviously any community can generate a list of things to do, but a Paul Anka tribute band doesn't have the same buzz as a Ghirardelli hot chocolate or German mulled cider sampling fair. The Denver stations and FB had everyone scared to drive this weekend because of road conditions in other parts of the state. How do we compounder and indeed benefit on those winter weekends when our roads are dry and clear?
