Town of Estes Park's Power & Communications (P&C) & TDS Progress Report
P&C
made good progress this week moving westward down Cleave St. as they continue installing main line conduit and service lines for pedestrian light poles associated with the project. The first of four transformer pads has been poured, this one being in the Big Horn Parking lot. P&C crews await the delivery of the first transformer for installation. As part of this work, expect to see conduit rising above the surface of
the roadway in various locations along the north side of the street;
they will be clearly marked, and motorists are advised to avoid these
locations to prevent possible vehicular damage. The week of June 10,
crews will be in the area behind The Old Church Shops (Now the Stanley Chocolate Factory). A map showing their scheduled work area will be linked on the project website on Monday.
Questions or concerns about the
P&C work may be directed to
Tyler Boles (P&C,
970-577-3607) or
Jamin Rucker (Public Works,
970-577-3736).
In response to raised concerns about fugitive dust, PW staff watered Cleave St. several times this week, and will continue to monitor conditions and take action when necessary.

Construction Project Status
Public
Works staff are planning to mill the roadway and place 4” of recycled
asphalt pavement along the entire Cleave Street corridor once utility
work is complete. This will provide a stable and easily maintainable
temporary roadway surface until the roadway portion of the project
begins in late October. This work is expected to take one week or less,
depending on weather conditions.
Notice of Upcoming West Elkhorn Avenue Paving
PW staff is working with the contractor to find an alternative timeline for the West Elkhorn paving project after October 20, 2024. More information will be provided when it is available.
