2)  UCSB CUEL Career Event: Change-Making Storytelling Through Social Media Campaigns
- Friday, November 14, 2025 from 2- 4 pm in Bren 4016

Want to be a social media rockstar who makes a positive impact on our planet?

Join us for a two-hour workshop on crafting engaging content for social media campaigns that drive positive change.  This event is brought to you by the Greti U. Croft Center for Undergraduate Environmental Leadership (CUEL)

We’ll start by exploring the lens through which we approach social media storytelling: Are we truth-seekers, revealing reality with honesty? Or truth-stretchers, shaping narratives for emotional or persuasive effect?

Put these ideas into practice through a hands-on session, developing templates for real-world campaigns with real impact.  Visit our website for more information in Evan Pondel.  Snacks will be provided!  See attached flier!

RSVP here!

3)  Sunrise UCSB is back! Sunrise is a national movement with hubs all over the country, filled with young people who are passionate about climate change, and what it means for our world going forward. We are looking for new members!

If you’re familiar with The Green New Deal (a plan to transition America to 100% renewable energy, guarantee living-wage green jobs for everyone, and guarantee a more just and fair future for everyone), that was created by Sunrise!

The UCSB hub disbanded a couple years ago, but we’re back and ready to get to work. This Friday, November 7th, we’re hosting a teach-in/art build in Girvetz 2127 from 3:00-5:00. We’ll be making protest signs for anyone to take home, and do a short lesson about the historical success of student movements, the intersectionality of climate change, and what we plan to work on this year. We’ll have free donuts, painting supplies, and a good time!

If you’re planning to show up, (or even just thinking about it) please fill out this super short form so we know how much food to get! And, if you’re interested but can’t make it, share your email with us here so we can reach out to you about future events. We can’t wait to see you there!
