Dear Students,

Through a wide range of campus departments and units, UCSB offers an ongoing array of seminars, research talks, and information sessions covering exciting and cutting-edge environmental topics. Most of these events are free and open to all UCSB students. They provide fantastic opportunities to hear directly from experts about past, current, and emerging environmental issues, projects, successes, and areas of concern. Attending these sessions is also a great way to connect with like-minded peers and expand your professional network.

Below is an announcement from UCSB’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER) highlighting their Winter Quarter seminar series in Conservation and Restoration Ecology. We strongly encourage you to review the lecture schedule and add the talks that interest you most to your calendar.

Throughout the quarter and the academic year, we will continue to share similar seminar series and special lectures via ESmail.

Don’t miss these opportunities! Access to talks and seminars like these is one of the many benefits of attending a top-notch research university like UCSB.

HI All!  The Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER) is excited to share the speaker schedule for our Monday Night Conservation and Restoration Ecology Seminar Series for Winter Quarter. The focus is on Estuary Restoration Design and Lesson's Learned from Restoration Projects.  Given the vulnerability of the Campus Lagoon to breaching (check out the berm at Campus Beach after the recent high tides/surf) and our Coastal Conservancy Grant to evaluate the best ecological outcome for the Campus Lagoon, this should provide some food for thought from other estuaries.  These talks are open to all UCSB students, faculty, and staff!  Questions, contact Dr. Lisa Stratton <stra...@ccber.ucsb.edu>, director of Ecosystem Management.

A few are in -person talks at 1013 Harder South and a few are Zoom Talks.
