3)  The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Ocean Salmon Project (OSP) is currently recruiting for multiple Fisheries Technician positions in our Santa Rosa office.

In conjunction with the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC), we currently recruiting for multiple Fisheries Technician positions in our Santa Rosa office. All interested applicants should visit the PSMFC Career Center at www.psmfc.org/psmfc-info/careers to apply.

Since 1962, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s OSP has collected dockside catch and effort data from California sport and commercial ocean salmon fisheries. The project estimates annual salmon landings and fishing effort in the state’s ocean salmon fisheries. The project also determines the contribution of coded-wire tagged salmon to commercial and recreational fisheries for use in ocean and inland management efforts.

Fisheries Technicians stationed in our Santa Rosa office will be trained in reading scale ages from all four runs of Central Valley Chinook Salmon, performing laboratory work, and data entry and analysis. In addition, technicians will be assisting with ocean salmon port sampling efforts, when the fishery is open.

See attached documents for more info.
